Chastleton House and Garden
Chastleton house Grade 1 listed is country house located close to Morton-in-Marsh, Oxfordshire and managed by National Trust since 1991.
Chastleton House was built between 1607 and 1612, possibly for Walter Jones and family who had made his fortune from the law. This home has been to eclectic mix merchants, soldiers, inventors and artist for nearly 400 years. In particular note the Long Gallery, with its barrel vaulted ceiling, with a length of 72 feet. Has the most impressive Great Chamber, designed for the entertainment of the most important guests and for the playing of music, the design scheme has its roots in Renaissance Italy.
